Pathology Services

Pathology Pathology is the study and diagnosis of diseases, including their causes, development and consequences. Clinical pathology deals with diagnosing disease through the analysis of bodily fluids and tissues. Anatomic pathology diagnoses disease through comprehensive examination of organs and body tissues.

At Lancaster Community Hospital, the Department of Pathology offers a range of anatomic pathology diagnostic services including general, surgical pathology, GYN & Non-GYN cytology, fine needle aspiration, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.

Among the pathology subspecialties available at Lancaster Community Hospital are gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological and dermatological as well as hematopathology, including bone marrow exams for both inpatient and external consulting work.

Many of the pathologists at Lancaster Community Hospital are board certified, have many years of experience, hold faculty positions at USC Medical Center and are Fellowship-trained in immunohematology and hematopathology.
